another day in the life

Work is pretty rough. 2 processors left my team so we got all their loans so I'm up to like 140 loans I'm processing.
I'm supposed to get another like 19 loans to closing this month or that's it for my job. Maybe it will work out maybe it won't. I'm doing what I can working late a lot but its kind of iffy.
I've been thinking I might head out to Florida if the job ends and see if there are better prospects. Even if the job market isn't so good I think there would at least be better scenery. When I drive around I see empty closed up businesses everywhere out here.
I was talking the other day at dinner after fencing about some of the shenanigans I experienced at fencing. One of them was when I went on a team event. Basically I was anchor and when I showed up none of my team members were there and one of the directors J was demanding my team go first and the team get blackcarded because everyone I had wasn't at the strip and ready to go.
I managed to stall the card and found out that what happened was the division president at the time Beth V had emailed everyone else on my team that the start time had moved ahead a bit. So they all showed up late. We got to fence but I checked with the other teams at the time and none of them had gotten emails.
She never explained it to me and folks acted like it wouldn't be like her to try to screw someone over so noone forced the issue. I still think it was a pretty lousy trick when I think back. I think due to her meek nature its more likely she was put up to it rather than doing it of her own initiative.
I was also thinking about Eric L a little today. He was an epee fencer I used to compete against. He was pretty aggressive and we used to have epee matches where we were both looking for fleche shots. I remember we had an epee match 15 touches once where it was like 27 seconds start to finish that was one of the division records.
He fell on hard times, from what I was told after he signed on with the military he got kicked out over a substance abuse issue. Then he got into a gambling habit and then was arrested trying to rob a bank to get the money back. He managed to get out of jail for a bit then I was told he got arrested again and has been in since.
Clearly his nature was more suited to sabre.
Got another tournament coming up this weekend. Should be interesting to see how it goes. I'm so burned out from work I won't be likely to worry about my opponents much. Worked for me last weekend at least.
