I turned 40 last March and today went to my first Veterans event.
There was the veterans epee at 11 then an E & Under at 2.
I took 1st at the veterans events, and 2nd at the E & Under. Schoolcraft swept the event we got 1st 2nd and 3rd place.
Doug Trojanowski beat me, its the 2nd time he's gotten a rating off of me lol.
I'm not sure what the future will hold for me and fencing at this point. Its looking like I might loose my job soon. I am in this new department they sent me to (didnt' have a choice in it) and I've been getting written up for missing goals.
Bleah. I have a backup plan for a job, I can do as an alternate which is being a mobile notary. Basically you drive around notarizing documents for people to sign for mortgages they're doing.
I got commisioned as a notary in my county, insurance, all the tools and a couple jonths of living expenses saved up. I also was certified as a signing agent by the national notary association.
If I roll it out its a matter of deciding what company name I'll make up, making sure I understand what to do with the taxes and how I'll market myself.
I have some websites that I can use and I also know the title companies in our area from work so I think I have all the fundamentals ready if it comes to it.
The notary gig has some risks, you can have huge liabilities if you don't follow proper procedures and people are using fake id's or what not. Pay appears to be about 50-100 bucks per assignment so in theory if I got 2 or 3 jobs a day I could do better than I am now.
