Fencing tonight was just pure joy. Well... sort of. It was just practice and instead of concentratiing on what I should to working upon, I just sort of let go and had fun.

Pure joy. Sometimes, I concentrating so hard on trying to master a particular manuever that I forget whey I'm doing this. It's just pure fun.

Of course, it would be much more fun if my skill level was higher and I won all the touches.

Saturday, back to work.

On Wednesday, I'll be taking Kyla (the granddaughter) to practice.

If they lived nearby, I'd offer to fund and provide transportation for fencing lessons but they're two states away. Still... I can entice. Try it. Just once. See how you like it.

I'm thinking of getting the plastic set for Kyla and her brother, George, when George is a little older. First, they both need to understand that fencing is never allowed unless the mask is on both fencers.

Get her the foam sabres. I got one of those for my niece ( coincidentally also named Kyla ) for Xmas a couple of years ago. It was so wildly successful that her mother demanded that I "NEVER buy her anything like that again! Oh my god!!!"

If I go to DM (which is still questionable for financial reasons), I'll be driving and will pick up TWO foam sabres there. This will enable Kyla to fight with her younger brother, George. If I skip DM, I'll pick them up in Pittsburgh. [God willing and the creek don't rise.]
