I'm back from the Purdue Open and I'm both pleased and annoyed with myself over how I performed.

I had 4 victories and 1 defeat and the defeat really bugs the heck out of me because that was the off-weapon fencer in our pool who was easily defeated by everyone else. I kept hitting my wrist on her blade. I could SO kick myself. This will serve as a reminder that I must never underestimate anyone or go into a bout thinking that I SHOULD win this one.

I made some small improvements on adjusting to what the other person was doing and planning what I would do before the director said fence rather than my old habit of just bouncing out there and waiting to see what the other person did.

I won my DE, keeping my 13th place (unless someone under me moved up).

The best news, thus far, is that my knee is not exhibiting the usual symptoms that it exhibits before swelling. I'm icing it frequently tonight in hopes of avoiding that fate.
