And the diagnosis is as expected. I have tendonitis. I have a pamphlet with exercise instructions and I picked up a tennic elbow brace at the local drug store.

After the SN, I'll take it as easy as possible.

I was hoping to go to the Mr. Ma Veteran's Camp in August but I don't know if that's wise now. I'e never had this problem before.

Next step: A wireless mouse or a very long PS/2 extension cable so I can make smaller movements.

I hate track balls. May need one.

Maybe I should just switch the mouse to my left hand.

No, Next step is when you get to work Monday, take a copy of the doctor's report to your HR office. They're required by Federal law to adapt your workplace to deal with the problem. That may mean switching to a different keyboard, mice, or desk. (Former Operations Manager of a Software Development company... I got to learn all sorts of things totally unrelated to writing software...) They will also need to work with you and your supervisor (who sounds like they need to be educated on the issue) about your current work assignment. If the keyboarding & mousing is causing the problem, then they will need to work out a better solution.

Hmm, did the Doctor clear you to fence with the tendonitis? I know that continuing to fence with the problems I had with my elbows led to tendonositis (long term calcified scarring of the tendons.. ). A fellow of coach friend who went through the same problem, ended up with elbow surgery and no fencing for ~6 or 8 months...

ps. My sabre lame came Tuesday. So now I start teaching elec. Sabre in addition to classic dry sabre... Guess I better go ahead and order the mask hood to preserve what little hearing I have left...

Hmmm... I didn't get a doctor's report. He also didn't mention anything about fencing or not fencing, although I did mention I was fencing.

The problem is that I AM the IT guy who will configure my desktop, etc.

Computer deployment is two weeks away so when I return from the SN, I'll be working with a contractor on that and THEN I'll return to the doctor's office and see about modifications.

Unless the pain intensifies, of course.

The type of injury took out the other veteran fencer (beginner) in the club.

I plan to ask for physical therapy if this isn't better by August. That way, I'll have some assistance doing the right things.
