Time to update the description. WSV50 fencer since 2004. Mostly recovered from two meniscus tears in 2006 (not fencing related) and other minor injuries. Focused on improving fencing skills and avoiding injuries. Goal is to qualify for the WSV60 team in 2012.
C had a cancellation today so she called me and asked if I was available to try the Pilate Reformer today rather than Wednesday. Thus, I wore my tennis elbow brace and gave it my best shot. She's going to call me Thursday and if my arm still feels okay, we'll schedule me for Pilates every Wednesday evening before fencing practice. [One hour gap between -- just enough time to ice the elbow and drive to fencing.]
The good news: No pain.
The bad news: I've lost one heckuva lot of upper body strength and my right shoulder made a cracking noise every time I made sweeping circles. I absolutely need to get back into the old exercise routine but I'm concerned I'll overdo it on my own with weights. Heck, I KNOW I'll overdo it on my own with weights.
I stopped and bought a Subway tuna salad sandwich on the way home, laid it on the countertop for a few minutes to put some things away upstairs and when I returned, Simon Illyan (cat) had the sandwich on the floor, out of the bag, unwrapped, and was happily chewing his way through it.
Obviously, I can no longer leave food unprotected in this house.
