Time to update the description. WSV50 fencer since 2004. Mostly recovered from two meniscus tears in 2006 (not fencing related) and other minor injuries. Focused on improving fencing skills and avoiding injuries. Goal is to qualify for the WSV60 team in 2012.
It's taken me half a century, but I finally like the body I'm in (although I'd prefer to have my pre-2004 knee, shoulder, and elbow returned to me, please -- just send it through the time portal). When I stand in front of our bathroom mirror after a shower, I can see the abs muscles on the side and they work exactly as I wish they had about 5 years ago. If I'd just stop eating junk food, the abs would be flat as a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader's abs.
Suffice to say that yesterday's Pilate Reformer class was another one of those just-get-me-through-this-hour event but it's one I am glad I'm committed to each week. It DOES make a difference and I can feel it as well as see it.
Today, I need to clean up and prepare for the trip north, to visit the in-laws, and my son's family will be driving up from TN for the visit as well. Our car will be filled with pre-Christmas presents (clothing) and what doesn't fit now will be mailed down later. Given that we've not yet learned how to bend space and time, it's impossible to cram everything they bought with them plus what I have into the car with two adults and two children in car seats.
And then there's the matter of the other side of the family and what they intend to send back with them.
