Time to update the description. WSV50 fencer since 2005. Mostly recovered from two meniscus tears in 2006 (not fencing related) and other minor injuries. Focused on improving fencing skills and avoiding injuries. Goal is to qualify for the WSV60 team in 2012.
To Peach: Yes, I probably shouldn't be trying to jump backwards while fencing at my age but I figure if I don't learn to do it soon, I'll never learn to do it. Besides, the PT told me to start running and jumping and ice the knee afterwards.
There's a game I've watched people play at arcade places where they whack a mole-like critter that pops up out of a hole and then another and another and another and no matter how many you whack or where you whack them, there's always more.
The knee was the first major problem and that happened last year. While whacking that problem, the thumb was injured and I lost the ability to grip properly. Now there's the tennis elbow issue.
Maybe it's not whacking moles so much as it's a the leg

Less than two months ago, we were told that the DoD required us IT folks to become Security+ certified or face possible job actions, reassignments, and possible job loss. Thus, I went off for training just three weeks before Summer Nationals and missed the opportunity to attend our local training camp AND had to fit studying into a very tight schedule.

Now that I have both a knee cryo/cuff and an elbow cyro/cuff, I've found that I can add a little more water and ice to the cooler and take both attachments to work with me and double-ice.
The knee is almost back to where it was before Miami and the right arm hurts only when I use it. The shoulder, however, still aches like heck.
I'm looking into getting a shoulder attachment for the cyro/cuff.
