I considered un-pre-registering for this tournament because it was so small, but I'm glad I didn't. It was a lot of fun and I met some cool people.
The strips at Liberty Fencing Club are simply fantastic to fence on.
There were a total of 7 epee fencers, so it was one pool to determine seeding.
I lost all but one of my pool bouts. I'm not used to fencing to 5 touches in epee at all, since at FAP we usually fence to 15 or 3 five touches in a row. I'm not sure how, or why, but it's definately different from a psycological/mental standpoint.
I won my first DE (ever) 15-10 against an opponent who carved me up pretty good during our pool bout.
I tied for third, and got a shiny thing to take home. So there's that.
Aside from the fun, I learned a ton. Mainly that I need to figure out why fencing 5 touch epee bouts is different for me, and how to fence them.
