The weekly private lessons are proving to be most valueable. This week Coach Jake said something regarding distance that gave me a whole new perspective.
After the lesson, using this profoundly different sense of distance in open bouts, I was more successful. I started my attacks from further away. My feints became better, because from a greater distance the opponent can actually see them. Obvious, but I guess I didn't realize it until I started doing it.
I still need to work on my patience. I have a feeling though, that it's something I'll be improving for my entire fencing career.

There are still some bugs to be worked out on my lunge technique, too. I've been working on keeping the front foot more quiet as it lands.

I'm preregistered for the March 4th div 3 tournament at FAP. The last one was run well, and all the competitors seemed to have a good time.

    Distance Is All. 'Nuff said.

What surprised me is how my sense of distance is evolving.
