So it has been more than two weeks since my little time off period from fencing has begun. It has been rather relaxing to be honest. I look forward to heading back to fencing next month, but for now it is kind of nice to sit back on my week nights and watch a ball game with a beverage of alcoholic origins.
Meanwhile though an out of town visitor to the world of Rock Hill got in touch with me inquiring about fencing in the Rock Hill area. This happens rather often as Winthrop is listed as having a club, but since the current administration of said club seems not to work too hard at being known I am still listed as the contact name. I also live across the street from and am good friends with the clubs and orgs secretary for Winthrop. Needless to say she knows i fence. Add to that the fact that a lot of people remember me as the fencing coach there, every once in a while my phone number or email address will be handed out to a fencer or would be fencer.
One day I will open a fencing salle here in Rock Hill. one day.
So anyways, this weekend was busy, but I am probably going to hook up with this visitor and my old coach and get some just for fun fencing. It will be good to get it in I think. Also start knocking the couple weeks of rust off. It is so easy to say you will practice in your own time... but when push comes to shove, I would rather just lay down sometimes.
However I have not been completely slacking off. I have been working at my paint job, and by god that is a good work out. carrying paint sucks, but I am evidently losing weight and getting stronger. yay for that. I have also taken up tennis with the misses. I love tennis. I am not good. But it is fun. I like to serve. especially when I do it right.
This weekend is the NC State Games and I really wanted to go, but it is looking less and less likely that I will be able to get out there. Good luck to everyone. I hope it is a huge success. It looks like it has the chance to be so. Other than that there are some small things I plan on attending in July, but for the most part I am looking forward to taking it easy until money becomes a much smaller problem. That will be in August. Then things will get much easier for my wife and I. Then she can focus on graduating and becoming a successful lawyer and stuff. And I can work on being a waste of flesh... because I am good at that.
That is things in a nutshell I suppose. this is just a catch up for everyone who might be interested. i will be fencing again soon. and then I will be awesome again. So happy fencing everyone. Don't worry you will see me on the strip again soon.
