They Call me "Point Control"

Mr. No Point Control. I just did drills and it is the first time I have had a blade in my hand (other than shuffling them around in the closet) since before my latest stroke in October. I did 100 straight lunges and worked on arm first, lunge and yank myself back to the right of the chair rather than leaning over the back and not really retreating.
I also worked a little on the torso to loosen it up to stand the swiveling I have to do in the chair back and forth, etc…
For a stationery target dot on the wall I sure missed it a lot. I hi in the area, but not where I wanted to. I’ll tell you, 100 lunges in a chair, even at a slow speed to get the mechanics totally wore me out. And then I wanted to mix some fancy stuff in (disengages) and it is hard to do that when you are by yourself. Parries are out of the question, let’s say I stopped every attack.
When I tried regular speed for the last five I wasn’t anywhere near where I wanted the tip to land, just like always. But I rationalize that it was the first day back and at least I had the discipline to get off my feet and practice, and boy am I tired, no DE for me today, or at least only one. Which isn’t where I wish to be. I drilled. Period. After the first of the year I am going back to the club and I am sure I can talk some AB’s into the spare chair and work on some drills. I want to attend the chair camp in PHX in March and NAC in Dallas two weeks after that. I hope I can Improve my dilantin level by then because that has a lot to do with toxicity, fatique, and anger.
See you in Dallas
