I had a great meeting with the Brain Injury Foundation People yesterday. I am going to start on a committee and then move to the board. They said they prefer to do it that way. Perfectly understandable.
I am going to use my legal network connections (another Board member is already working the HR community in town) and try to drum up interest in their fundraisers etc. Actually, just volunteering in some of their projects is cool. Their next activity is a "Friend Raiser" to raise awareness in town that this marvelous program is here and donate in kind where you can.
Of course when I started talking about Barrow I completely caved in. Fortunately they are used to seeing that and did not make a big deal over it. I of course was completely embarrassed.
If not for the Stoopid brain surgery I would have remembered this group. I should have been using their services from the moment I got home last year.
I also learned about a National Ahpasia Association. Of course suffering from it I was joking at work that their conferences must be interesting. Each plenary session is 3 hours long and they get 10 words out.
Oh, and send some cool weather out here. It was 105 at my house today.
I bought my new whites and they should be here by Tuesday and by God, I am going to Nationals and going to finish on my feet!!!
