Thank you for the comments. I did call an attorney but he thought it would be too difficult to pursue. First of all, there were two textbooks: the first one is the one I did some work on. I considered myself to be a contributor. I did spend a lot of time with my boss on the book. It took meetings after hours, and during work; and I think that at least the first three chapters were the chapters I had the most input on; after that we sort of called it quits on chapter four. Her co-author, partner and she spoke heatedly about this and finally her co-author was able to point out to her that if she didn't include me, officially, there could be a problem. So she backed off. After she felt comfortable with things, I got fired from the job. I went on unemployment for three months and moved away. It was just too much for me. I was very hurt by this, I really trusted her. It showed me that we can't let people take advantage of our good nature.
If he's using that e-cigarette, he's obviously not over the reason he started smoking in the 1st place. Which means, under a real stress, he could go back to real cigarettes in a flash. Fruit and vegetables will help clear out his body, if he eats enough of them... good luck
Has the book done well enough to be worth your time? Your text should not have been used without your permission, so it's possible, you may have a case. You may have to prove you wrote it in the first place, can you do that? always breaks down to is the money worth your time.. especially since the lawyer is going to get a chunk.
The reason you are still having pain issues, is because there is still trauma in your body from getting hurt, it makes you energy go to the wrong place. There could also be a problem with the screws, doctors never check to see if you are allergic to metal. Run through the experience of breaking your leg about a dozen times backwards, yes backwards, as fast as you mentally can. Imagine going thru the surgery backwards also. Then rewrite the whole incident as though it never happened, and how you would be now, See how that does for ya... should help, not the best way to get rid of the trauma, but best I can do on this blog.
It's great that you know how much you love the sport, I don't know why you're not able to participate, maybe you will tell me. But let me tell you a story, A viet nam vet was in a prison of war camp for about 2 years, he loved playing golf and while in the camp, he practiced playing round after round for the 2 years, when he got home and went to play golf, his score had not changed 1 point after years of not playing....true story. Whatever your condition is, it can be healed or fixed and you can get back to your sport, but doctors, if they don't have a pill, can't help you. You MUST be willing to look at other possibilities.
What exactly are you working with, I am new to the site and haven't read your other posts. I work with people with injuries and maybe I can give you some free advice. Here's your first advice, when the doctors say they don't know what to do with you, quit listening to them and find someone who does, if it doesn't come in a pill, doctors are like a fish out of water. You can get back whatever you are determined enough to put out the effort for, including mobility and dexterity. There's an old saying, "life can make you bitter or better" your choice. You can send me a message and I'll help.
Maybe you should take a break for a while, come back find a new club and get some coaching and start over.
Don't give up fencing. Don't - Give - Up. Do something within the sport. Ref. Coach. Fence. Your mind is still working. Do. Not. Give. Up.
...being crazy looks good on you....
I will pretend to believe you
If it helps. I am only repeating to you what you have frequently told me. At any other point in the year, you are sane enough to understand and believe this on many levels (intellectual, emotional, etc.) That you are currently not able to believe your own wisdom speaks to the level of temporary insanity. I am quite certain that we could take a video of you saying these very sane things and play it back you you in this month and you would argue that the person saying these crazy things doesn't look or sound remotely like you. And we would smile and agree. And then we'd all have a nice laugh about it a month from now. You have lots of time before the event you care about. And you are very good at making solid plans and then carrying them out.
Congrats!
Yeah, because no matter how much you pay them, they still have to live in Colorado Springs.
Oh, hell yes. Of course. But you can still get some important things done . . . of course, that requires hiring an extremely competent office staff that knows how to get things done in spite of the board That's how every successful organization I know actually functions. I'm not sure we can afford the kind of people we need, though.
So....we're...doomed?
HKD @ Easton Y too. I ran our little half hour dog & pony show. Competing with the noise from the other half of the gym was quite a challenge. Epee demo bout on the hitmate with only slight technical difficulties. Got everyone - kids and adults - up on their feet for intro to footwork. Showed them all how to hold the foil, let them hit the padding mounted to the walls. Seemed like a pretty good crowd and everything seemed to go very well. It will be interesting to see if we get any newcomers from it.
Devils won it, 4-1. All four in the 3rd period. Dish said I shouldn't have had any problems with the game and there shouldn't be any with the game on Thursday. We'll see.
As long as the partner doesn't finish way ahead of you and sit outside smoking impatiently until you're done
Always easier to train with a partner.
