I have discovered what the most insidious wound a fencer can have: an abrasion on the instep (the arch) of the back foot. That is the last time i will ever try to fence in dress socks. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE ENOUGH!! No, it was not enough. I tore skin where the arch support of my new shoes dug into one of the few parts of my feet that is not callused like whoa. I've confirmed my entry is listed, I've a THS reservation, and I just booked a flight. God willing and the creek don't rise, I guess I'm going to another NAC.
