I think I'm posting this more out of boredom in my lecture than anything else. I reffed all weekend at the kickoff open here in Va. It was a good time. I reffed sabre alllll day saturday. 3 pools of MS, DEs including a semi, then a pool of WS, and again DEs including a semi. Overall, it went very well. I felt pretty good out there. It was me and BigDawg reffing the 50 person MS basically by ourselves, with a little help with the final pool and a few DEs early on. ...
Do you realize what support you are lending? I don’t think you realize how much you have helped me come back from the first craniotomy and I know you will all be there if I have to have a second one. Your kind words and encouragement have really given me the kick in the pants to not begin to be a quitter. I have never been one in my life and it just seems so easy to lay back and let go. I have kidded that I am not going, but lately it seems like there are just more and more roadblocks thrown ...
Let's do the time warp again..... Okay... it's day three and no headache. Usually, I have a vomit-inducing, axe-through the forehead, full lightshow migraine headache and I got that in NJ, 24 hours before I stopped drinking Diet Coke. I went through everything I'd done and a listing of the foods I'd eaten and did not find a reason for being so sick in NJ and esp. since I had the usual caffeine-withdrawal symptoms.
Well this is nice. I just talked to my CEO/chairman and he brought up my health. I sent him the two letters that go polar opposites on what I can and can’t do. The one that says I should take a month off is “just” a neurologist. The one who said I can do what I want is the surgeon who did my first craniotomy and angiogram last month. We are in the middle of a lot of stuff right now, including pay cuts for executives and officers. If I go on STD I will bring home about the same ...
I find it somewhat odd that I had the massive just-kill-me-now caffeine withdrawal headache in NJ, after overdosing on Diet Coke while driving and now, in day 2 of no caffeine, I'm merely groggy. I note that the bag of M&Ms is still unopened.
