    I just got back from the surgeon. He talked as if the craniotomy next summer was a sure thing. Honestly, I kind of believe that myself. Even though It is all based on how my three year follow up does. Dr Spetzler said if the aneurysms continue to grow maybe I should “bite the bullet” and shut down the basilar artery once and for all.     Well, I was in the middle of drafting this whole big blog entry about thoughts based on inverse advance vs. advance (and I'm still working on it).

    However, I've had a rather big development in my life in the mean time thats probably worth sharing. I just got a job in California as a full time coach. I went out there for a week at the end of summer on a trial run, and everything went great. I got a job offer from the owner a few days ago. Its absolutely awesome...

  3. Retreating

    I've been focusing upon retreating while fencing the newer fencers and it's finally yielding results that I can see and feel. My blade control is better, I'm using my fingers rather than my whole arm, and I'm succeeding in slowing down the other fencer and taking sometimes taking ROW. Last night, I managed to take the blade once against one of our better fencers so either I was just plain lucky or I'm finally beginning to "get it".

    It would certainly change the way I fence ...
