I've been focusing upon retreating while fencing the newer fencers and it's finally yielding results that I can see and feel. My blade control is better, I'm using my fingers rather than my whole arm, and I'm succeeding in slowing down the other fencer and taking sometimes taking ROW. Last night, I managed to take the blade once against one of our better fencers so either I was just plain lucky or I'm finally beginning to "get it". It would certainly change the way I fence ...
