Coach sat me down and said he was really happy with the progress that i've made. Part of it was learning to be intelligent about using my physicality in conjunction with technique. The other part of it was staying loose in the body and tight in the mind... at least that's the best i can describe it. He also pointed out some things that i still needed to work on. I have not yet reserved a room nor have I decided whether I should leave Friday or Saturday. Leaving Friday has the advantage of allowing me more than ample time for delays and an opportunity to either sightsee or to watch the Saturday competition. My check has not yet cleared so I'm going to confirm I'm registered and have the date and location correct before driving over 1K miles there and back to fence. Yes, I am insane.
I sent off the visa application yesterday via UPS, requesting expedited processing and an invitation letter, for a horrendous amount of money, and today I'm getting all kinds of e-mails from helpful people in the veterans group suggesting cheaper and more convenient ways to do it. ARGH.
