It was said about Golubitsky (i think) that he was different from many other elite fencers, because he was not only faster and stronger than the competition, but fundamentally understood the game differently. Here I go again. It's almost a 4 hour drive to South Bend, IN and I simply cannot drive that distance without caffeine. Not safely, anyway. Thus, I had one Diet Coke on the way up and two on the way back (it was dark and I was dehydrated and foolishly got a second DC when I stopped for gasoline before realizing I'd be better off with the water I'd brought with me).
