  1. Will one day make a difference?

    by , 06-30-2009 at 11:13 AM (Greybeard's Brain Blog)
I am a wreck. Because of not having my license and other health issues you guys haven't heard (like you thought there could be more) I haven't had a lot of time to train for this weekend.

Due to that stupid thing called life I might be able to re-arrange things and get one night in this week. Will it really make a difference? I am a bundle of nerves and that bugs me even more. Look at my college sports career, this is nothing compared to standing on the free throw line in front ...

  2. last practice before trip

    by , 06-29-2009 at 11:24 PM
My strained muscle or whatever it is felt better this morning and I did some lifting at the health club, still staying with low weights where I could go through the entire range of motion slowly and fluidly for a couple of sets at high reps. I still couldn't reach my toes comfortably. I really don't know what exactly is injured; it could be a hip-joint problem, a strained hamstring, or even a variant of my sciatica.

It was a high-energy night at fencing, with all the competitive ...

  3. a little detail

    by , 06-28-2009 at 11:51 PM
Daga asked me to warm up with her before the event. I haven't fenced for years. She doesn't overdo the warm-up and has a light hand, and I think was just doing it to move a little, so it was a lot of fun fencing her. I told her it had been forever, and she said, "I bet I was this tall," holding out her hand at waist level.

Pool was Jillian Rosamilia from Medeo, Alexis Jemal from Peter Westbrook, Katie Arden from MFC, Natasha Tonge from Swarthmore, and Amber Lachapelle ...

  4. What's bugging me

    by , 06-28-2009 at 10:16 PM
I decided to upload a picture of my bug-bitten feet so there is visual evidence that I am not making this up about having a problem with being bitten to pieces by something while I sleep. I'm not a great photographer and had issues with the lighting but the second photo has one bump that clearly shows a hole in the middle of the bump, indicating it's a bite.

  5. Liberty Cup

    by , 06-28-2009 at 06:49 PM
More later, but 3 and 2 in pool, seeded 14th, Rosamilia 1st DE, won that. Faizah Muhammad for 2nd DE, had her down 8-6 at the break but I slipped, did a split, and pulled a hamstring, so she beat me about 15-9. Gold medal bout between Alexis Jemal and Dagmara Wozniak was excellent. Daga won something like 15-12? She has a really fine stop-hit.

A good last outing before I have to go to New Zealand.

Sam Roberts also slipped and really hurt her knee. I saw a couple other ...
