    by , 04-22-2009 at 09:20 PM
Monday night was rainy and very quiet--only about four or five of us. I was having hip pain and was a little tired from fencing the day before. My lesson with Mark turned a little goofy, because he went back to some stuff in engagement with croisés and enveloppements, finishing with prime, all of which in a normal bout ain't never gonna happen. However, I suspect that a number of the weird things he does with me in lessons are the cause of many of the one-light touches I seem to get on people, ...

  2. Do you remember making a mix tape in the 80'

    by , 04-22-2009 at 06:42 PM
It was quite fashionable to make mix tapes of our fave songs and give them out to our friends and such. These social networking websites are the bane of my existence...

I made one for this one little girl I was madly in love with. Of course she wouldnt have anything to do with me. Years later, two divorces and a few kids later she sees my name and pings me.

She didnt tell me who she was but said I knew here ages ago. Ok......

I made this entry in the thread on marketing. It looks like it got skipped over in the discussion, but I wanted to reprint it here, and add a few more comments. I was responding to a poster who complained about all the SCA and LARP (Live Action Role Players) that showed up for fencing clubs:

This is probably a separate issue from marketing, and relates more to club dynamics and the coach's style. Our very nature brings in a lot of those students into the doors of our clubs. A certain

I've discovered the cure for allergy related sinus pain.. the kind that refers to your teeth from the pressure of it all.

Diet Soda. You have to inhale and keep the soda in your mouth.

It works wonders. My teeth are so sensitive that when I get this pain I usually have to take a Percoset or two.

Pain goes away INSTANtly. The key is to not flex your face unnecessarily or to try andminimize it when you swallow.

Of you screw up and you become aware ...
