  1. High energy expenditure

    by , 08-19-2008 at 06:53 AM
I was stiff and tired Friday and Saturday. I got my husband to rub my back Friday night and he put some serious effort into it, which got rid of a good bit of the pain, though Saturday I was still a little tight and yoga didn't feel all that good. Sunday I walked quite a bit--I guess four miles or so--and Monday I felt pretty good. I walked to the train station, the usual 45 minutes, and after working a couple of hours came home and biked to the club for two hours of the junior fencing camp. ...

  2. Man on a Mission

    by , 08-18-2008 at 11:35 AM (Greybeard's Brain Blog)
Happy Monday. I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Aside from getting my rear whipped by Teenagers at the club. On Saturday we had a reporter at the club from the local ABC affilliate and he did a full interview on my recovery. by , 08-17-2008 at 10:13 AM
Every once in a while, we get a beginning fencer of veteran age and then they disappear. Why? I have checked my deodorant and mouthwash and I'm not doing or saying anything to scare them away so... why?

    by , 08-16-2008 at 10:39 PM
Maybe it was because of my beginnings in 1994 at my first NAC in SF and the upsets of that day or the NAC in Chicago with foil but I love the underdog. I loved watching the Giants win the Super Bowl with only a few seconds left in an impossible play under pressure. I knew that the WS fencers were the favorites for the team gold but still came away with an impressive bronze. However watching the WF defeat the #2 Polish team and then defeat the Hungarians to take the silver was priceless. I was ...
