Today, I drove from Indianapolis to Dublin, OH (near Columbus) to fence in the Alexandre Dumas Memorial Open. It was a C1 event with 15 fencers participating. We began with 3 pools of five fencers each and the referees were also fencing (except for one, who was waiting to fence foil). I woke up early and, because it was supposed to be hot today, I went out for a five-mile walk before the day got any warmer. The walk was easy, though I started to sweat on the way back.
