Today is one year to the day from my surgery. I worked up a sweat tonight. We had Meng (back from Ireland), Kiersten, Jessi1, Dangerous Dan, Donna, Mike K, and Danielle K., who is off from school and working for a living. I only did 15-touch bouts because I've been doing so many five-touch bouts lately, and I fenced Meng, DD, Mike, and Danielle. Moorestown High School is a HECK of a lot nicer than the previous venue. It was brightly lit and spacious with an excellent floor, of a composition that was not slippery. I'll post more details later, but basically I went three and two in the pool. I lost to Helgiu and Faizah Muhammad, won my others--Miyako Rose was in my pool so I had another veteran fencer! I baked fencing cookies and red card cookies to take to practice since three of our fencers are graduating. However, the entrances were blocked and there were no parking signs around the building and when I finally managed to find access and reach the building, a sign announced it was closed due to a fire in the mechanical room. We had a severe storm last night which knocked out power several places (including our home) but I don't know if the fire was related to that problem or not. ...
