  1. A little more fit

    by , 01-03-2008 at 11:41 PM
Since I'm home in NJ for the holidays and my mother's birthday, I made it a point to go down to the NYAC and get my ass handed to me. It was very fun to be an athlete again, not a coach or a coach who happens to also fence. Don't get me wrong, I love coaching, and I'm very happy that I'm able to do it as much as I do. It was just nice to go out and fence.

That's not the main point of my entry, though. On the way in, I had a long discussion with a friend who is a very good fencer ...

  4. Fix It All

    by , 01-03-2008 at 12:08 AM
I want to review the epee rules next week in preparation for a clinic and exam when I return from a business trip. Unfortunately, I'm failing to find some of the easiest stuff and thus I'm asking a couple of simple questions here and hoping someone can point me towards the obvious.

    301. How are the shim gauges used to test the epee point?
    a. Insert the 1.5 millimeter gauge, making sure it will fit, insert the 0.5 millimeter gauge and depress the point, making sure it registers ...
