    by , 03-03-2007 at 10:45 PM
drove up to fence this event mostly for practice. wanted to fence some foil before atlanta, and wanted to fence epee period, since i don't have anyone to practice with in practice.

i treated my pools in epee like practice in order to get some much needed practice in. results reflected this, as i dropped a lot more touches than i should've, and dropped a bout.

i can't really recall who was in my pool, but i went 4-1, +18. ended up seeding tied for first, on the top side ...

  2. Kick to the gut

    by , 03-02-2007 at 07:22 AM
I looked at the list of entries for the next NAC and noted my name was not there.

This is a good thing because it means my withdrawal went through in time, but it also felt much like someone kicked me hard in the gut.

I am not going to be there.

Only 11 WSV50 participants. I had to resist the desire to book a flight, grab my equipment and offer to pay a late fee. Never mind I haven't fenced in two months, I WANNA GO!!!!!!

  4. Train and rain

by , 03-01-2007 at 06:44 AM (My training log)
It has been raining since New Years... with a few brief pauses. Mud, mud, mud...

On to training last night at Mannheim. NH, AtK and AL were there. We warmed up--it was quite competitive with the four of us!--and did the drills, then fenced 5-touch bouts. Everyone was fencing quite well, at least for the first hour or so. Interesting how quickly staying loose and letting your legs do the work wears you out.
