    by , 02-14-2007 at 09:12 PM
I had a snow day today, but unfortunately this was supposed to be the last practice. I was going to take the kids over to the college and have them bring all the equipment back. Tomorrow I want to throw them a little party and send them on their way.

So I drove over and got all the stuff. I think there may be one or two weapons floating around in the fencing room that belong to us, but even though they're labeled that doesn't do me much good--I teach at The Haverford School and ...

    by , 02-13-2007 at 10:11 PM
Ok, so what would a history lesson be without a timeline, right? Well, here the dates that I believe mark significant dates in our organization. Now there will be many people that will email me over time that will add dates to this list and I will go through the volumes of diaries that I have to try and include exact dates where possible. If you have any questions you can PM me.

    by , 02-12-2007 at 11:04 PM
Today I suited up Henri and Keenan for electric bouting. Keenan was playing a defensive game, but Henri would come forward and make beat-attack and Keenan couldn't defend. Henri even ran him off the end of the strip once. When Keenan tried to attack, Henri would parry and riposte. Henri has done a fair amount of karate, so his stance is square and he isn't making a proper attack with his arm, but Keenan wasn't taking advantage of that. When the score was 14-10, Henri suddenly stopped attacking, ...

  5. skipped out

    by , 02-11-2007 at 04:44 PM
I had so much work to do this weekend, I couldn't face doing the tournament for which I had signed up, especially as I have ended up refereeing much of the time in my last couple of tournaments. I ducked out and went to the Art Museum to see Thomas Easkins's "The Gross Clinic," then went to the knitting shop and got some needles to replace my broken pair. It was viciously cold and my feet were hurting badly; I have so much steady pain in the ball of my right foot that I fear I have the ...
