{mosimage}Based on the results from the final Team World Cup held 2/21 in Eislingen, Germany, the United States was able to claim a spot in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.

The United States team finished 12th at the event, the result didn’t impact the standings.  The closest team in the US zone was Canada, which had no chance to catch up to the US so they didn’t send a team to participate.

The Italian team won the event, and earned the European zonal spot at the games.  Germany, which placed second, won’t get to go.

European teams comprise 8 of the top 10 teams in the world.  5 of them will be competing in Athens.  The other 3 spots in the tournament will go to the top country in the American, African, and Asian zones.

The following table shows the qualifying teams, their qualification path, and their world ranking as of February 25, 2004.
