The upcoming NCAA National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Fencing Championships at Ohio State will be held March 24-27.  The tournament includes a round-robin with five-touch bouts, with top-fours advancing to semi-final of 15-touch bouts.

2011 NCAA Fencing Tournament

Ohio State University will play host to the championships on March 24-27 at the French Field House and St. John Arena in Columbus, Ohio.

The National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Fencing Championships include individual events in each of the six weapons (men’s foil, men’s epee, men’s sabre, women’s foil, women’s epee, women’s sabre).

Only 3 schools qualified the full slate of 12 fencers (2 for each weapon): Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Princeton.  Based on the points system used for determining the NCAA National Championship Team, these three schools have the best shot.

Highlights of the National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Fencing Championships will be shown on CBS at 2 p.m. Eastern time, Saturday, April 30. The seasonal show, “CBS Sports Presents Championships of the NCAA”, will feature highlights of 18 different NCAA championships that took place during the winter.
